"Annette_15" is the screen name of Annette Obrestad, a Norwegian poker player.
Born in 1988, Annette Obrestad has taken the poker world by storm over the past few years. She started her poker career online when at only 15 years old and has claimed that she never had to deposit money to play - she built up her bankroll by winning freerolls. She went on to win hundreds of thousands of dollars and was ranked as one of the best online poker players.
In one of the most interesting stories in the poker world, she claimed that in 2007 she won a $4 buy-in 180-player online tournament where she played the entire tournament without looking at any her cards except for one bet where she was put all-in. She did this to prove the importance of position and watching other players at the table.
In November 2007, Obrestad had another impressive finish when she came in 2nd place at the 2007 PokerStars European Poker Tour Dublin event, earning €297,800 ($431,184). She held the chip lead throughout most of the final table.
In 2008, she continued her tournament success. She won 1st place and a $20,000 prize in a PokerStars tournament with a buy-in of only $11 but with a field of 20,000 players. She also finished in 1st place in other medium-sized buy-in online tournaments.
After impressing the poker world with her online skills, she then showed her skill in live tournaments. On September 17, 2007 (at age 18) she came in 1st place in the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, winning the £1,000,000 ($2 million) first prize, which set the record for highest single payout to a female player (set previously by Annie Duke when she won $2 million at the 2004 Tournament of Champions).
Obrestad has only recently been able to compete in the WSOP, which she was previously been unable to do since she was under 21. People are eager to see how well she will do.
Obrestad is part of the Betfair Poker Pro team. As of 2009, her total live tournament winnings exceed $2,700,000.
