Antonio Esfandiari

Antonio Esfandiari, originally from Tehran, is a relatively new to tournament poker. Before becoming a professional poker player, he quit college to become a professional magician. Moving on to poker was a smart move as he later won the $2000 pot-limit hold'em event at the 2004 WSOP. He also became the youngest player ever to win a million dollar prize in a poker tournament and the youngest player to win a televised WPT event. He recently joined Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, and Devilfish in promoting UltimateBet.

He brings fun to the game. He never says anything bad about players or is out of line in cash games that ive seen. When he was younger he got out of line a couple times with his waive and the time he busted phil ivey.. but he apoligized the next day. Hes really matured and he cares about the game. I recently met him at the panarama towers with my friend buffalo joe who he is cool with. He came over to my car and shook my hand even though he was late for a tourny at the time. Ive always been a fan of antonio and hope he continues with his success

I personally played with Antonio's father in a cash game at the WSOP for about 15 hours. Antonio came over and said hi, and was very friendly. His brother Paul also played a bit in the game and was a nice guy. Their father was fun to play with and they are a tight-knit family.

Antonio is a solid players, and plays with more ballz than any one of you people rippin him. On the WPT he pulled off bluffs that really took alot of heart. I have the upmost respect for anyone who can put it all on the line with nothing, especially for that kind of money.

Antonio is definitely not a top tier player but he's pretty darned close. His game will get better when he knows how to play bad hands better. I think Antonio is a great player. I was very impressed with his play vs. Vinny Vinh on tv recently. Sure part of his success is due to luck. The same can be said of all successful card players. People who are not impressed by him have the right to say so, but the racist, profane commentary is really so unnecessary. And...without question the man is good looking. It doesn't hurt to have him and Gus Hansen around when I'm watching poker for hours at a time. :-)

I've worked with Antonio on 3 WPT events and he is a gentleman and a great player...The commerce event he played in and won was one of our highest rated shows...and he was also one of the poker pros on two of our Hollywood Home games along with Phil Laak and they were a joy to work with...

To all you haters out there-You know you're jealous because Antonio who came from another country and who stereotypically is suppose to be at a disadvantage in America has managed to become more successful and has made more money than you ignorant people can even count. Oh, and here's a thought, why don't you spend more of your time trying to keep your girl from running to Antonio instead of trying to figure out whether or not he's a Jew.
