Jennifer Tilly

Born in Harbor City, Los Angeles, California in 1958, Jennifer Tilly is an actress and celebrity poker player. Her breakthrough role was as a singing waitress in The Fabulous Baker Boys and she is best known for her parts in the Jim Carrey hit Liar Liar, a voice role in Monsters, Inc., Seed of Chucky (2004), and Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway (1994), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She learned how to play poker from her boyfriend, Phil Laak. She has 6 WSOP cashes for a total of $212,973, including a bracelet for beating 600 players and finishing 1st in the 2005 $1,000 Ladies No-limit Hold'em Event. She also has 4 WPT cashes for a total of $146,950 and won the 3rd WPT Ladies Invitational Tournament held at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles in 2005. Her live tournament winnings exceed $450,000.

As far as celebrity poker players go, she seems pretty serious about poker and at one point she stated that she was more interested in poker than acting. Later on, she said that plans on treating poker as just a hobby and not a career because success in poker is elusive. At first, this may sound like the whining of a failed celebrity poker hack, but I think her statement is very insightful, especially when comprehending the difficulty of trying to make a name for yourself on today's tournament circuit where there are many talented players and huge fields.
