The games are dealt at about 40 hands per hour.

PROMOTIONS:

They have a points system where the points that you earn which are based on money wagered and the points can be redeemed for cash. They also run a "Showdown Survivor Series" where they give away tons of money in bonuses. SOFTWARE:

Their software is decent. You can only play 1 tables at a time but the software is compatible for Macs for those who are trying to find a non-Windows site. The interface is very simple and has that Atari 2600 feel to it that appeals to players who don't want a lot of background graphics that can be distracting.

ive played at alot of online poker websites, but by far this is the worst ever poker site online! DO NOT PLAY AT PACIFIC POKER, want to know why i would say that??? BECAUSE THEY HAVE BOTS PLAYING FOR THE HOUSE... 888 KNOWS IT ALL, from taking your money in their casino, or on the poker tables. I figure they have about hmm... 100-200 bots on the website constantly just moving around tables, knowing all the cards layed down, and know how to make it look real. Listen to this: i was playing at a 600$NL table, i got pocket AA's which is a very strong hand. i got someone who started raising me before the flop, so i decided to go all-in with 500$, that person calls the 500$... now the flop comes... the turn... the river..., all low cards except for 1 Queen... then BAM! that person wins 1020$ with a STRAIGHT, ""THEBOT"" called me 500$ with 9 7 offsuit! now do you believe me? besides that, ive gone on lucky streaks before, making 20$ into 1500$, but after cashing it out.. i cancelled it the next morning and lost everything, maybe the guy that wrote the post about cashing out, then loosing it all was right?? anyways, the best poker applicaiton ive used so far has to be Poker Stars, its just the best of them all by far. thats enough for me to say i guess, dont forget ----------------->> DONT PLAY AT PACIFIC POKER! THEY ARE THEIVES

The software always crashes, disconnects quite often. Poor graphics. Plus, i don't know if this is just my bad luck, but everytime i have a fantastic hand i will loose as someone will get a lucky flop, and i hate to mention the number of times i fold weak hands only to see a flop that would have given me a winning hand.

Well I finally "retired" from Pacific after over a year of constant play and about 12K in profits. Although it would be ridiculous for me to complain about being up 12K... I'm going to! I slowly bulit up my bankroll on the site through the 2/4 and 3/6 games. I then "graduated" to the 5/10 game where I have seen some of the most ridiculous play one could ever expect to see. Although on a monthly basis I was consistently winning, I probably lost 6 years of my life! I would go through stretches of getting rivered time and time again by the unlikliest of draws. I always made withdrawls so I was safe from going in the red but lately I just can't seem to win anymore. Tonight was the final straw when I kept getting raised by 3 outters (ie AK vs KQ) and the shcmucks KEPT HITTING THEIR Q ON THE RIVER TIME AND TIME AGAIN. A combination of these hands and idiots calling for running straights, running flushes, or with 1 over after the flop only to hit their high card on the river was enough!!! I blew through $700 with all but a couple hands coming on horrific beats. While I have gone through stretches like this on this site before, I just can't take playing with these morons anymore. It's not worth the stress. The big winner in all of this is the site. The boards are unnatural. Every hand in poker does not end with a straight, flush, or set. Anyway I'm done venting. In summary, yes you can win big if you are patient enough AND have enough of a bankroll to sustain some pretty bad stretches but in the end I'd rather win a little less at another site and save my sanity.

i've play like party, pokerstars, tiger, pokerchamps before coming to pacific.Pacific is the only site that i've had problems with. My first game here was a freeroll. Everytime i would call a bet, i would get disconnect and then whenever i would raise a bet, my hand would be folded. WTF. I was able to play zero hands and end up losting all my money in like maybe 8 hands. A couple times when i was dealt my cards, i got an illegal bet message right after recieving my cards. This would automatically fold my hand. I have no clue what is going on.

I play money games at 4 sites on a consistent basis. Nothing too big, the $50 NL table is about my max on most nights. I have won consistently on every site BUT Pacific Poker. Perhaps it is the loose nature of the games and players betting with anything and staying until the river but I have NEVER experienced the kind of bad beats anywhere that I experienced at PP. I don't know if there are shady things going on at online poker sites, probably are some, but if I were going to suspect any of them, it would be this one. Besides the play, the software is the absolute worst on the net, hair pullingly slow and constant glitches, poor connection problems and on and on. The support is okay, the cash outs fine but I will never play at this site again. There are too many better ones out there and the bottom line is winning. I do everywhere but PP.

K Im not being a facist here, Im telling you the truth, if you cash out, you will lose bigtime! I dont know what kinda lil loophole they have in their code, but everytime it works like clockwork, to bad you cant bet on it! If you win a hand, they have a way of getting even! this site is something to wonder about, its funny how the river is always a straight or a flush, when your holding 2 pairs, its absoultely amazing, Ive never seen a random number gen like this, oh btw 888.com casino is seriously rigged try playing bj there, ive never seen so many Aces for the dealer WOW

Let me first start out by saying if you are a solid poker player then you can make alot of money at this site. These players are by far the WORST I have seen on any site I've used, at least 3/6 and lower. Now for the flip side, the beats and cold cards you suffer on this site are CRAZY!! I'm not talking about AA getting cracked, or sets losing to flushes, thats just poker, I'm talking about losing with monster boats, and even 4 of a kind (I did twice in 2 months) and going hours and hours between decent hands at times. I'm not a conspircy theorist, but in 27 years of playing poker regularly in Southern California and Vegas, I have never saw, or heard of anyone losing with 4 of kind personally, even though it has been known to happen in live games here and there, but to lose with it twice in 2 months is kinda fishy. Also, there is an absurd amount of one card straights by people playing hands like J4o and Q2o. Its suckout city, staring runner runner as the culprit more times than not. I give it a 3 only because the place is an aquarium, and like I mentioned before, you can make a killing there if you are getting the cards, but if beats like I mentioned before would have you considering jumping off the nearest bridge, this site should probably be avoided. On a side note, I withdrew my $2700 winnings (after losing about $600 in a week on a string of hideous beats and cold cards like i've never seen before) and put it into my live game bankroll, saying goodbye forever to Pacific, about a week later, I got a call from their customer service asking if there was a problem, I told them I was playing live games at XYZ casino now and had no ambition to play at Pacific anymore, well long story short, they credited my account with $20 which I was able to turn into $500 in 4 days, playing 1/2 and some 2/4. My tracking software reported I had AA 16 times and KK 12 times in those 4 days, not really sure what that means, but it seems kinda sketchy, I've NEVER had a run of cards like that, and I honestly don't think I lost a single hand that went to showdown in that span!! No one can PROVE online poker is rigged, or can be rigged, but I don't really like the prospect of "maybe", I'd rather play in a real game anyday. I haven't played at every online cardroom, but I have spent extensive time at 6 of them, currently will ONLY play at one of them, and this is one of the more suspicious ones in my opinion. If you live where there is a casino nearby, by all means, play there, you'll notice the difference big time, if not, well, take your chances and good luck.

Ok, isnt it funny how you have say 2 pairs, or a straight, and a flush card comes, this site is amazing for these draws, like there is 10 J K Q then a ACE Flops out! Something is rigged, and YES, Its true, when you go to withdraw your winnings your FORTUNES turn, and they want you to take your winnings back, that is why it takes them 3 days to process a withdrawl! Online Gaming is all rigged. 888.com casino is rigged why wouldnt this be!

This site rocks! It is by far the best I have played at until>>>> Until I lead out with a 2 dollar bet and got raised by 130 bucks.. I then went to type in the chatbox and it auto raised on me. Thats right folks there is a STUPID feature with Pacific poker that has hot keys on your keyboard. I did not know this and am out 270 bucks because of this! I called support and they say I am lying. I have sent numerous emails and they just say oh sorry you lost the hand to quad 7's!! No DUH! Everyone be very very careful of chat. As a matter of fact never even open this problem child from hell! IT will cost you alot of money. It cost me 270 bucks that they will not refund me? No justice and this site could care less if they lose another player over this! They refuse to help me out at all! THIS IS MY WARNING PACIFIC POKER SUPPORT WILL NOT HELP YOU>> BEWARE OF CHATBOX.. biggest mishap on any site I have ever played on..

Pacific Poker is where I started playing about 7 mo.s ago. I have mixed feelings about the site. I am constantly frustrated with the disconnections which if you play here often you are going to experience several times and many at unopportune times. The support staff has always been accomodating. The few times I have been disconnected that really cost me money they looked into it and repayed me. I started on the sit and go play money and when I was consistently winning those tourneys I advanced to the Real Money. I deposited $40 dollars and got a free ten. I started with the 2+20 sit and gos and after about 5 months withdrew $900 which was deposited fairly quickly. My play was extremely tight and aggressive. I think the site is great for beginners but I NO LONGER play here for three reasons.1. No Stats2. Frequent Disconnections/ Hard time logging in.3. All ins--when you call or get called it spits out all the cards and either you are the winner or you are axed out basically booted from the table with out being able to say a word or sometimes even figure out what hand they had to beat you with. (This is in regards to tourneys and sit and go's)

There is a variety of different cash levels you can play at. 1$ tournaments, or .50 Cent, and way up. I like the fact they set max players for the tournaments. The layout is very comfortable on the eyes, good green color, since you will be starring at it for a long time.

Hi Guys Paul Again,As a gambler we all no doubt recognize and accept the "laws of average" factor. It cannot and will not be denied. I play Blackjack at a local casino. I usually play at the $25 minimumtable for hours at a time. I have seen dealers go on fantastic streaks of luck as well as players. Suddenly a reversal of fortunes surfaces and it goes vice versa. The same trends occur when I play in the casino's poker room, I can go an hour, sometimes more without getting involved in a hand, no viable pockets to even play loose with. While online I experience the same trends. I go bad and then suddenly I get a rush of winning pockets. As for the droughts occurring after money withdrawals from online poker rooms, it's just a coincidence. I would love to blame my droughts on rigged software. The other night there were over 80,000 players online at one time. Now just how in the world do you figure they singled you out? Out of the entire population of "players currently online" do you suppose any software can do that?!!!They can deliver weak pockets which I refer to as a "lags" because they delay your game as any good poker player will bide his time and wait, wait, wait and wait some more if need be for a viable hand. The community board may be a tad juiced as well, but then again it is going to lose for you and win for you in turn, as the "laws of average" kicks in again! Same thing at a Blackjack table when a player does the opposite move with his/her hand as he should and then the dealer instead of making a solid hand, BUSTS! Nobody wants to kick the lame player unless the dealer makes a 21. Same thing in online poker rooms. You seem to remember the "bad beats" more predominantly than the hands you committed the bad beat on yourself. Human nature, we are basically negative creatures. Some more than others, thus the constant complaining and finger pointing. A decent comparison for the online community boards would be looking back to when you were learning poker as a kid, remember when deuces were wild? That creates excitement and more possibilities for everyone's hand involved. Again, it works for you and against you within the guidelines of the "laws of average". It's how you play the winning hands that differs the winners from losers.Maximize your wins and minimize your losses. It's just that simple. Rigging? Yes. But not individual conspiracies! Well guys/gals that's the way I see it.

I took 100 and made it into 230...took out 130...and have not won anything since. I hate conspiratol...but i lost my remaining 100 almost instantly...despite playing tight...did not win a hand over 5 hrs...unbelievable...Anyways...pacific must be rigged...because i'm winning on every other site including pokerstars and absolute...

this site is crap. first off it is full of bots. Pacific poker is one of the few sites where software can be used to have a computer play the percentage plays for someone. the single table tourneys are allright but u only start off with 800 chips. overall there are a lot better sites out there

Pacific Poker is by far the best site around as far as profits go. If you don't like the beats, you are playing the wrong types of hands and the wrong limits. Try the 5/10 tables, they are easier to beat than most sites 1/2. Could it be because the site is run by 888.com (the biggest online casino)? Only drawback is the disconnects.

If you like bad beats, ridiculous outdraws and extremely suspicious poker that will have you pulling you hair out, then this is the site for YOU! Never play with house money (the "gifts" they offer you), never demand money back from the site, and cash out all at once and not piecemeal. The disconnections are a complete joke.Anyone who says that online poker is not rigged in incredibly naive IMO. It's both unregulated and often run by shady organisations. But if your patient and have a very think skin, you can win money here.I like the graphics outlay better than any other site BTW. Nice easy to read well spaced out table with no cartoony crap.

Played at Pacific about a month now and let me tell you it is an experience to be sure. Facts, maam, just the facts! I have been disconnected more at this site than any other. When you are disconnected you must get out of system log back on and put in password again. What a hassle! The cards are so small you can easily get a spade and club confused, yes you can, I know, 4 clubs and 1 spade do not make a flush, I found out the hard way. Why so small? Also, no four color decks, with cards this puny they really need four colors. The players are the loosest ever. Many are maniacs. If you want bad beats just play here. If you are tight all the time you can win but it may not be much fun. It's a fun site to play occasionally but I certainly would not make it my home port! You have to experience the games to believe them. I would certainly give this site a try to see if you like these kind of games. If you want a lot of preflop raising with JQ offsuit, and 3/4 going to river this is the place for you but be prepared for server problems over the long run.

I have been playing online poker for about 14 months on Party, Empire, Paradise and Pacific. Which is best? I wish I could tell you. All have bad beats, so does a home game! This is my experience at Pacific, which I have been playing only two months. I deposited $200 and received a $50 bonus immediately, which was nice. I played for one month and won approximately $350 at the $1/$2 table. I was getting some good cards in general and the other players were quite loose, couldn't believe the raises preflop with the hands they had. The people that I have played with at Pacific will play almost any hand anytime from any position. One thing I especially noticed that occured quite frequently was that at show down with 2/3 players that many times, regardless of the pot size all would fold to a bet. This is not how real poker is supposed to be played. However, at times I was the one who bet, never bluffing I might add. After about a month of "good luck" and some good play on my part I withdrew my original $200 and the $75 bonuses I had received. I began getting terrible hands routinely, I mean terrible hands for a week, playing a couple of hours each day. I lost about $150 over the course of a couple of weeks. I played tightly and still lost but I did not get involved in many hands and thus did not experience many bad beats. I began to play extremely tightly and have slowly begun to win again. I don't find the bad beats any different at this site than at any of the others. However you will probably experience more of these here because many, many players play to the river hoping to catch the miracle card and sometimes they do, this is a fact at Pacific. I will continue to play at Pacific for a few more months and play very tightly and not get too involved in the pots, especially after the flop and see what happens. I am still "up" in money but we shall see. It is very difficult playing against the opponents at Pacific as they do not seem to care about pot odds, outs, etc. I have heard that the real fish are at Pacific but that depends on how you view fish. If you have one or two at a table going too far with their hands, etc. I would like it much better. When you 5 or 6 going in with any hand and going to river with them it becomes very difficult to play reasonably. And, of course, you will experience many more players "hitting" their draws because more are "in the pot". I also plan to redeposit some money into my account and see what happens concerning the starting hands I have been dealt.

I like Pacific more than most reviewers. The games are no slower than those on Prima and Paradise, though they are slower than Party/Empire. I find the software o.k. for note taking. Some games are loose as a goose, but not all. The bonus takes a long time, but that doesn't bother me much as I plan to pluck pigeons there for awhile. One negative is that the rake on a $5 pot is 10 whopping percent. It gets more rational as the pot increases and is only a problem for those in the micro mini games. But, still, they exact a high price from those just learning the game.

Rating as follows - Software: 2 (utterly horrendous - slow, unstable and extremely poor support functions) Customer support: 4 (slow and inexperienced - after complaining about numerous problems playing at PP I was told they "were not twisting my arm" to play at their site) Bonus: 8 / Traffic: 6 Game selection: 5 Random card generation: 6 (didn't notice anything glaringly bad like UB is currently)Fish factor: 10 (worse players on the net - bar none. Unfortunately I will not be going back there until software problems are remedied, getting disconnected about 20 times an hour, and being able to only play one table at a time was simply an exercise in frustration.

Like Dean (Comment dated 11/06/04) I too cashed out and have not been allowed to win since. I rarely get playable hands now and if I do, I'm typically beat on the FLOP. However, I've noticed this to be the case at a few other sites so I just walk away from it for a few weeks. The graphics are horrific and the playing experience frustrating. Also BEWARE, I've noted that there's a good possibility of hackers at this site.

Site generally is great for making money. Easy games have let me be profitable consistently over last year. Some problems need fixing tho'. Once in rare while the software will hiccup and allow a player to be skipped, getting a free card without posting. This has happened in tourneys and very rarely in cash games. Unfortunatly, no player notes option. As others have stated, only one table played at a time. This is okay for me, as I feel it leads to looser players, but you definatly get a share of bad beats. This year they added NL tourneys, but still no NL cash games. Generally an okay site.

Bonuses take a while to work off. Can't multitable. Soft games. Samcat needs a lesson in statistics. A 500-hand sample size is like flipping a coin 10 times and getting 9 heads. "It should be 5 times! Not 9! THE COIN MUST BE RIGGED!". All-in-all the games are easy to beat there and everything is fair.

I would've given Pacific a higher rating but the software sucks. It is horribly slow and you can only play one game at a time. However, the players are some of the worst around, so it's good to make money... you'll get some bad beats though as K4o will suck you out to the end.

When I first started playing online I played 500 hands of holdem at 6 different sites. I tracked all hands and did a weighted average to see how accurate they were. 4 of the other sites came within .002% of a perfect weighted average. The 5th was off by .05 (1/2 of 1%). Party Poker did not even come close. After 500 hands I had gotten 23% less A's than I should have gotten so have not played since.
