Stan Goldtein is a professional poker player who currently resides in California.
Before he turned pro he worked as a bowling alley desk clerk. Although most people at home don't know him, he is well-known in the poker community as a solid player. He played poker in high school, but it wasn't until later that he began playing seriously. Goldstein started playing cash games and realized that he could also be successful at tournaments.
He has 15 WSOP cashes (no bracelets) and total WSOP earnings of $361,220. His best cashes were his 3rd place finish in the 2001 $3,000 No Limit Hold'em Event for $105,605 and a 2nd place finish in the 1996 Pot-Limit Hold'em Event $90,000. He also had a 6th place finish in a WSOP Circuit Event for $118,275.
His WPT record of consistent cashes is just as impressive. In season 1, he placed 3rd for, earning $61,270. Next season he bubbled th e TV table and finished in 7th place for $93,000. In that same season he earned $174,585. He has 8 total WPT cashes and total WWOPT earnings of $509,622.
He states that his most memorable poker moment was heads up against Ben Affleck for the 2004 California State Poker Championship.
