Superior Poker, opened in 2003, was part of the Action Poker Network (along with Tiger Gaming). The site didn't have a lot of traffic but they usually have a a few low-limit cash games going. They were among the loosest games on the internet. Their software was one of the first to give players statistics on their play (flop %, % of hands won, etc.). Oddly, the site also offered access to weird games like Chinese Poker and Guts. On the downside, Superior didn't offer any multi-table tournaments (only sit-n-gos).
As of Friday October 13, 2006, they were forced by their software provider, Action Poker, to no longer accept poker players from the US because of the UIGEA. In a statement to the poker community, they denounced the legislation and vowed to bring access back to US players. In December 2006, Superior did indeed begin offering access to US players again due to the sale of Action Gaming. Las Vegas from Home (LVFH), a publicly-traded online gambling company, sold Action Gaming for $2.6 million to PlaySafe Holdings AS (a Scandinavian company). In 2007 though, Superior once again cut off access to US players. The site's traffic subsequently declined and the site was shut down in 2008.
