Why even bother

There are all these people who post up looking for games on this site. I attended a 50 man tournement on Saturday, I sent out forty e-mails to people looking for games in my area. I got one reply. What a waste of my time. :mad:

Sometimes people wait a little while to jump into a game. Next time there might be 3 people. Also, people who are really into it tend to bring people with them. This isn't just about contacting people on this site - it is about getting the word out through those people for other people to know about it too.

I would reccomend attending a couple of home games to find people who play. The people who play the massachusetts charity tournaments are usually not home game players. I have suggested to the administrator of this site to clean up the old games and tournaments which he is supposed to do shortly which would help out you a lot. You might also post your game

This site may not be perfect but it is the best I have found on the Web. I sent emails to 10 people I found here and got back 5 responses. That is a pretty good ratio. Some of the older links are probably no longer valid.

First, I used this site to build my game up. Once KK is done revamping everything, so we can sort by players again, I hope it will work as well for me as it had before.

Second, are you saying you sent emails to fourty listed games, got one reply and attended the 50-player tourney as a result? How is that a waste of your time?

Third, don't assume that just because someone listed their game here, that you can just walk in willy-nilly because you sent an email. You don't say how much lag time there was between your original emails and when you expected responses.
