League Format in Nebraska

This post has two purposes. First, if you are interested in playing in a weekly home poker game that also has a league format most weeks, contact me via email at smm302@mizzou.edu. . . this is in Omaha Nebraska, Fridays at 7pm.

Second, does anyone here run leagues. I am setting up a format similar to the Poker Superstars (with reasonable blinds of course). Basically it is similar in that you earn points and we have a final event where your points get you chips so the best player throughout the league gets the most chips all the way down to the worst getting least. . . with minimum requirements etc. . . Anyway, long story short, anyone here run league formats and have any suggestions. . . I'm looking to gain players and build the prize pool as well.

Have you found anything out about starting a league? I just moved to Fl and am looking into starting a league or joining one. When I lived in Philly the leagues were everywhere in all of the local bars. www.thepokerbluff.net and www.riverchasers.com They would run a 3 month league and offer a final tournament with prizes that included trips to Las Vegas. The bar would pay a fee to host the games and the players pay for free (except the money they spent on drinks or food). Do you know anything about the legailities of this? Or, how to start up a similar league?
