ProPoker.com was he only one i knew that was fixed - tons of bots

I guess thats why i never play online, i would like to just dont trust them. Only thing on line i trust is sportsbooks.

i just stay away from ring games and stick to SNGs

only for fun
 

online poker games should only be for fun in my opinion

simply cos it takes have the skill away from the game

you can't read your opponents in any way... so all its good for is practice with the cards or maybe learning other versions of the game.... although this too is overated as it's self learning through a very limited experience....

as far as money goes, forget it most if not all games are based through miscellanous countries with various different banking laws

to give examples might be slanderous as i've never been conned personally....

so even if you win the credit card transfers will take a hefty bite anyway sometimes 5% or more

As a regular on line gambler at party poker I have to disagree with the above statements. I have not seen any significant collusion or evidence of bots.

Also, with the paypro system you can make deposits into your poker account directly from your bank regardless of whether or not your bank supports on line gambling. You can also cash out your bankroll directly back into your bank account. Both of these actions are free of any fee at all.

Also, it is a popular misconception that you cannot read opponents on line. The key of course is to become familiar with your opponents betting patterns and tendencies, just as you would in a live game. Though it's true that you can't read body language, you'd be surprised how well you can place your opponents based on betting trends and style alone. I find that with what I've learned about reading opponents on line, live ring games are substantially easier to read.

And finally, as a resident of a non-casino town, the practice I get on line is invaluable. If I had to travel to play, I'd play only a few times a year, this would place me at a distinct disadvantage to regular players. Now that I can play from my living room, I play every night. I stay in top game form, and I've become a consistent winner both on and off line.

I have to disagree with this. Poker is all about betting. The biggest skill you need to use is figuring out a persons betting pattern. "Tells" are overrated

This is wrong. Back before the internet, players had to drive to a casino (sometimes hours away) or play in a home game to get table experience. Now, full-time internet players can log up to 4,000 table hours a year playing full-time. The learning curve is much shorter these days (measured in time). Years ago, professional poker players HAD to live in Las Vegas or you didn't work

i don't see what affect this has on me. I go through Neteller and it isnt a bank.

anyone not using Neteller isnt using his brain. I've done hundreds of tansfers and they were all free

Max_Prime and Admin posted first-rate replies. I agree with them completely.

I have never seen any evidence of cheating by any site.

While collusion between players remains a possibility, I think it uncommon. If it did happen, I think you might see it at the higher limits. I think low-limit denizens such as I need never fear it.

well i got the debate going and that was the main intention

as far as i'm concerned nothing beats a table game

and whilst i do play online it dosn't even come close to the same experience

as far as the "experience" i can see your point. Playing live is very fun - it fun socially as well as more exciting. Roughly speaking I think playing live is more for fun and playing online is more for money. I know at least 5 people making $50-$100 an hour playing online with medium experience. For a person to make $100 live, they need to beat a $50/$100 game for 1 BB/hour and this is not an easy feat.

Collusion
 

Online collusion is definately there but you don't see it in your normal games. Its a lot more prevailant in the $100-$200 tourny's. I left a few of those games because you can see sometimes that 2 people are from the same town. All you gotta do is fold when your heads up with your amigo. or you can just throw your friend all your chips and noone would say anthing except, "what a newbie, what were you betting on?" and you instantly have a nice big chip lead. Its there but it plays in the shadows.
