Sounds like you need to use hand selection and position a whole lot more. You have to be mindful of what you are entering pots with, and your position in the betting rounds. if you are playing a full ring game, you should be extra cautious in the first 4 positions after the big blind. Meaning you should only be playing large pocket pairs, or AK,AQ,AJ,KQ,K10, unless you know enough about the players and what they are playing. You can be more liberal closer to the button, widen those hands to suited connectors or 1 gappers......You just need to be mindful of your position and tempermants of who is in the hand.
