What makes the WSOP special is that it is a free-for-all with anyone and I do mean anyone can try to win. The fee has no meaning any more. What makes it so special is that in order to even make it to the final table you have to have some skill. Luck will only get you so far. The publicity from WSOP has made poker what it is. Why change/kill it?

I do think that WPT (or some thing like that) needs to think about players not how to make as much money as they can for the casinos. Players need better ranking and to be paid for the TV time like on the PGA. The poker world need to change/mature to become more like a sport, not like many people think of it as just luck.
