Is Poker game a way to become richer?

I'm just wondering until now why many online gamblers joined in poker sites?
Is it just for fun? Is it because of prize money? Remember you are betting your hardly earned money to gambling. Gambling does not give you satisfaction at all.

Some plays for money and fame,from endorsements and much more extra names to be called. Some are just playing for fun, some play for a living.
