Afghanistan (or Taliban) Hold'em

My group plays a number of off the wall games.. usually reserved for 2 A.M. after copious amounts of alcohol have been consumed. This one will certainly keep you on your toes.

* Starts out like hold'em except you get 4 cards instead of 2.
* Before the flop, everyone discards 2 of their cards, but keep the discards in front of them
* Game proceeds just like hold'em except that at any point before the final reveal players can pay a set fee to pick up their discards and reshuffle their hole cards anyway they want. They can do this as often as they want as long as they pay whatever the fee is every time they pick up their discards.
*Why is it called Afghanistan Hold'em? Cause half your army runs away before the battle begins.

Funny,

Are you sure you cant call that type of poker, "Goblin Wars" since it has the same effect.

Afghanistan (Taliban) army were typical — quick to laud their own prowess in battle, quick to jeer at their opponents, and quicker still to run away when things started to look slightly dangerous.

Now that fits them better! ^^

Sounds kinda like my old home game 20 years ago! Sometimes I miss it.
