Small Tournament Structure

We just used this structure last night, had to find something that would fit a small 6-8 person tournament. It worked pretty well, with the tourny lasting just about 2.5 hours. For the chips, I have a 500 count 5 color clay set.

$5 Entry, $5 re-buy first hour if chips below $500, $5 add-on at break gets you $500 more.

Starting Chips - $500 (15x$5, 9x$25, 2X$50, 1x$100)

Level increase every 20 min

Level - Sb/BB - Ante

Level I - 5/10
Level II - 10/20
Level III - 15/30
-= Break =-
Level IV - 25/50
Level V - 50/100
Level VI - 75/150
-= Break =-
Level VII - 100/200 - 25
Level VIII - 150/300 - 25
Level IX - 200/400 - 50
-= Break =-
Level X - 250/500 - 50
Level XI - 500/1000 - 100
Level XII - 1000/2000 - 200

Payouts -
1st - 50%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 20%

Let me know how this works for you, or what variations you use.

Cash Game

In a cash game, on average what percentage should the dealer and house split for a home game?

Still learning

The way we run cash games is like this. If the pot is $19 and under the rake is $1, $20-29 we take $2 anything over $29 and we rake $3. We stop at $3 no matter what the pot gets up to. I have not had one complaint about this and have been running a game every weds. for 5 years now. I also do min buy in of $20 and max of 100 so no one loses there shirts.
