SNG win rate?
 

Anyone ever calculate your per-SNG win rate? Any idea what's a good average to shoot for?

From what I've been told who play regular SnGs and win a good player should be able to average a profit of the buy-in. Ex. If you play twenty 10+1 SnGs you should make a profit of $200. I've never actually tried this but I've heard it from several players.

Not sure who told you this but it's wrong. Most people refer to their profit in SNG's as ROI, Return on Investment. Thus if I had an ROI of 20% I would receive 2 dollars for every 10+1 tournament I played. A good ROI is about 20-30% depending on the quality of players. Making 200 for twenty tournaments would mean placing 3rd or higher almost every time.

I found that you have to be very aware of each round who is in the game. When playing with good players I did better. When you have lose fish you have to play tight and wait till you or someone else takes them out.

Pay off was about even.

You have to count the vig. Not counting in the buy-in cost highly distorts one's ROI.

It's entirely possible that this is the dumbest and most incorrect thing ever posted anywhere online. No one averages anywhere close to this rate of return.

I don't know much about the subject, but from wht I've heard, 10-15% is a good ROI for SNGs, and 25% is really good.

10% may not sound high, but if you are playnig 12 tables of $25 buyins, that is $30 per hour - plenty to make a living.

Well i guess for poker pro playing SNG is 37% or higher 'coz they know how to play tight/aggressive and does so with incredible patience and discipline., if you are an average poker player 20-36% - 'coz can’t let go of draws, even when pot odds justify an obvious fold. and for the fish poker player is 0%-19% 'coz they are the most susceptible to being trapped and/or slow played.

I do really well at the low buy-in HU sng's as well but I hardly ever play them anymore- the game was so stressful.
