Help with 6 max
I'm looking at moving to six max and wanted to run a couple of things by those who frequently play at 6 max.
1) Starting Hands: I would assume now that anything I would have played from middle position in a full ring game is fair to open with in 6 max. Is my thought process correct on this (at least until I get my feet wet) 2) BRM: Should I adjust my BRM to use less of my bankroll to buy in? If I understand correctly there is more variance 6 max. Any insight would be appreciated. |
6-max
The variance is going to be a LOT higher. And the level of aggression is so much higher at 6 handed, you're going to want to play just about anything. Shouldn't be seeing too many flops either.

So what are your trying to imply here my friend? I mean what would be the best strategy:) |
Well, the most success I've had with 6-max has been at the .50/1 nlhe tables. Basically, if it's folded to you, you should be betting 4 to 5 times the BB. You'll be in a lot more heads-up situations that way and generally the other guy doesn't hit. Just beware of the players who are ultra aggressive, then suddenly are check-calling you to the river. They generally have a monster.
