How do players play in 2 events at once

I'm fooling around in a fantasy poker league purely for freeroll chances on full tilt and for fun with a few friends. Anyway, how do pros play in 2 events at once. I've never been or been to watch so do they run back and forth or what??

Yeah--wsop On Pokerwire.com, you'll see for instance Chris Ferguson was still in the Pot Limit Hold Em event and then he was also listed with chips in the limit hold em event. . . .

I've never heard of that - unless the tournies are being played at different times.
