Just a little advice for you. If you want a serious game with serious players, have serious buy-ins. $100 min buy-in is a joke for 2/5 nl. And a $400 max is at least $100 too low, if not $500 to $600 too low. You probably won't find serious players if they can't buy in for an appropriate amount. Hope your game develops into a great one!

I would be more interested in a $20 buy-in, $0.50-$1 or $1-$2 game. That way, people would be more interested as there is much less of a risk!

i run a 50/1.. avg starting buyin is 150 amoung 15-20 players.. no max.. several hrs in, including multiple rebuys also; the avg stack is more like 300. and when we get down to one table. avg stack has grown to 400-ish.... this is a 50/1.. any 2/5 game i play generally buyin for 500 and am the shortest stack ... any good game NEEDS to play at least one-level bigger than the game is posted at, and at times really should play 2 levels above... advice, never cap a buyin, and unless you are getting a ton of players, raise the min as well, or you will rake the game right off the table in just a short time. i rake 10pct, 4 dollar max and can run for 10-14 hrs every night and no one even notices the rake coming off the table.. but if u only have 10 ppl at 200 a pop, and no rebuys, that is 2K, if u rake just 4bucks, with the blinds 2/5, u should rake 4 bucks almost every hand, times min of 25 hands an hr, that is 100 an hr off the table.. might notice that !

You want to start with a minimum of 50BB or you will almost always be committed to go all in. Play a smaller game if you only wan to risk $20.

The key to this really is: what kind of home game are you trying to run?

Is the primary goal entertainment? Or profit-mining?

All games don't have to have the same goals.

At my home games, we play $1/$2 NL $100 min buy in, $300 max up to 75% of the big stack. Works well and always get 2+ tables each night.
