FTP strategy for tournament players

If you are like me, then you're constantly looking for ways to make a decent profit on FTP, but it's seems impossible to avoid the amazing 1 outers. Over the past 4 yrs, I have been trying different strategies and found one that seems to work.

The first step is to avoid temptation. We all want to win big, but you have to face one of two problems: you have to go through a lot of people or pay for a larger buy in.

I found a way to decrease the odds of me losing my stack, while giving me the opportunity to play for the big bucks. It's not a genius strategy, but some of you may not have looked at it from my perspective.

The key is the Sit-n-Go's. Buy into a $3 Step-1 Sit-n-Go. The top 10 people out of 18 will receive at least their buy-in back. The top 4 receives a Step-2 ticket. If your a decent tourney player, it should be pretty easy to AT LEAST come in 10th.

Continue playing this game until you get the Step-2 ticket and continue on to the $8 buy-in Step-2 Sit-n-Go. The top 8 players in the Step-2 Sit-n-Go will receive at least a Step-1 ticket and the top 4 will receive a Step-3 ticket.

Continue this process until you receive the Step-4. The Step-4 ticket can get you into a game worth $75. If you use the Step-4 ticket in a 45 player game, you can win over 1k.

A $3 investment can go a long way if you invest the time and be patient.
All you have to do is wait for a premium hand and you should be able to advance to the Step-3 game with no problem. In fact, I just won a Step-1 tournament as I was writing this blog. Now, I am about to play the Step-2 game.
