NL Hold\'em $100 Freeroll: Been hanging on to my chips all tourny, had only three good hands out of at least 50, but almost 850 people was already out and I was still there. I\'m in the button, 100-200 blinds, then it comes, AKs; 5 out of 9 fold, one called, I raise to 400, the SB folds, the BB calls and the other one calls. Flop: A-9-4 rainbow, the BB checks, the other guy checks, I raise 200, the BB folds, the other calls. Turn: 2, the guy checks, I raise 400, I was sweating, I just wanted him to fold; but he just calls again. River: 8, no flush or straight possibilities, I go fiuuuu...., but then he raises 200, WHAT!!! did he slowplayed the whole hand?!, I call, but it wasn\'t slowplaying, it was just LUCK and REALLY bad play (rgggh...), the guy had 4-8 off, beat me 3/4 of my chips, and from there it was all up hill for me, ended 135th.

I was playing in a play money game at pokerroom.. on a 100-200NL table... as you cann create tables at pokerroom..with the max play-mone buy-in being 10,000 play chips..a man decided to create a 10,000 pre-flop ante table. You have to bet 10k preflop or fold! ...(as table owner you can boot people who don\'t bide by the rules.)..anyway i got well into this game and of course 10,000 play chips ante dwindled away quickly into my 133,000 stack...but i bult up to $2.3million play chips on 1 table...but then i ran into a player called \'felon\' a pokerroom legend....he had just over 5 million chips on the table... HERES THE BAD BEAT PART: Preflop- i bet 10k (10k is the minmum, not max)...excitedly with pp aces...felon re-raised to about 60k.. i remember just calling hoping to trap him on the flop... the flop amazingly came: A, 6, 6 I bet overbet the bet $150,000 aking him think i was trying to steal..but amazinlgy he re-raised to about $500,00...and i responded by going all in with my 2.3million in total..he quickly called... the next 2 cards were rags- the pot was about $4.5million....i showed my hand- a house of aces over 6s...he shoed four of a kind- 6s!!! i nearly died... you may say it was only play money but for 2 million play money player on pokerroom.com there is a top list called \'the top 100\' for the top 100 play money playerson pokerroom..at the time to get on the list you had yto have 3.5million- i was about #189 at the time...and you go down in pokerroom.com history if you make that list...i was so damn close but yet so far.. as time has gone by we have seen the invention of the 25k preflop, the 35k preflop, 1-3k preflop and even the all-in fold tables...the top 100 is a tall task to get on to nowadays as standards have improved....you have to get roughly $11,000,000...there is also a top 50 weekly player list on who has profited the most in the week...the winner of eah week goes into the hall of champios...i have been close once by coming 4th for the week.....

The Setting: A $10,000 No-Limit buy-in game in the heart of New York. The Players: Mike F.: A high stakes gambler who does just that - he gambles. A loose over-aggressive player with no regard for his or your cards. Mike T.: An absolute rock, if he\'s in he got Aces or Kings. Messel: Mike F., but to the extreme. He is a multi-millionaire - he\'s a retired businessman (started an online company and sold it for 325 million). This guy is an absolute maniac. Pushed all in preflop under the gun with 95 offsuit. Doesn\'t care about his money and is a jerk. We have been in a vicious fight all evening, ever since I rivered a spade in a 2,000 pot. Tom: Arguably best player of the bunch. Smartest and tight aggressive. He knows his odds. Me: This is my first game with the group. I\'m not rich, don\'t get me wrong. My day job is a 70,000 a year and this is way outside my range. I was a little drunk that night and I sat in at the club. The Stacks: Me (Marty): 16,000 Messel: 22,000 Tom: 7,000 Mike T.: 14,000 (still on fire after his Aces beating Mike F\'s Kings, but hasn\'t played a hand since) Mike F.: 11,000 (is on his 3rd rebuy) The Blinds: 100-200... no ante The Hand I am under the gun and pick up AsQs. I open for 500. Messel smooth calls and Tom raises it to 1,000. Mike T (the rock) folds, and Mike F calls. I decide to call and Messel calls. The flop comes [Js-3s-Ks] Couldn\'t rig a better flop!! Mike F opens for 1,000. That means that he is bluffing. I come over-the-top for 3,000 more. Tom folds. To spice things up, Messel pushes all in!! Mike F quickly folds and I call like a lightning bolt. Then I just remember - If I lose this pot, I will have some trouble paying my expenses. But nah... that\'s not and issue. Messel jumps up, practically dancing and turns his flush over. \"Take that ****-head! He exclaims.\" I just smile. He had the 4s7s. Finally I can get out of my cheap 1982 Ford piece of crap! New car, hear I come! The turn is the 6s -- Ahh what the hell, the more spades the merrier! Then I hear Messel utter the whispered words \"I feel the five jack***\" I wish I could say the river was a 10 of clubs, and that I drove away in my new BMW. But that would be a lie. That fateful 5s fell on the river and it didn\'t click right away. I still had that smile on my face. Messel jumps up off his seat and runs around for twenty minutes. What\'s funny is that his money meant nothing to him. To me, it meant everything. I get up, take my half-empty Corona, and walk away. As I exit, Messel yells, \"Hey ****\" and tosses me a single dollar bill. Thanks. That was the last poker game I will ever play in. All you need is the poker gods to frown on you once and you might end up like this. If u feel bad for me u could transfer me some money on pstars: Wegotwood lol

I have AA I go all in pre flop so moron with 3 6 of hearts calls me I feel good about my win. The board comes 7s 4h Ah 8h 10h I had more money he wins I throw a chip at him and bust him later. Lesson to belearned NEVER PLAY WITH PEOPLE WQHOI KNOW SQUAT ABOUT POKER, YOU\"LL LOSE! I\'d like tot take this time to address alsace\'s question about what he/she did wrong. THough my all in pre flop got called and beaten that was a freak. WHat you did wrong was not going all in preflop. This is a common mistake, you did raise it which should have been enough to drive the 7 8 offsuit out, but at times it\'s not enough. I go all in with AA to prevent such bad beats. If this guy was going to call any all in as it seems going all in when he hit a 7 (WOOHOO A SEVEN) the you did nothing wrong, you just got beaten and it happens. You didn\'t get out played or out foxed you got unlucky.

CRY CRY CRY.... is this the Whining Board.? Since everyone else has a whining story, I will add mine.... Having some luck, so moved up to 15/30 table. I was dealt Qs, Qc, and decided to slow play for a moment. One guy raised, then I re-raised, and everyone else folded. Flop was Qh, 7c, 2d Raising/Re-raising continues... Turn was 4s He keeps raising me and I am re-raising.... I am thinking \"what can he have that would beat QQQ?\" Flush draw.. NO Straight draw.. NO Maybe... a Full House from the flop/turn draw, but doubtful ? So.. River comes up K, and he shows his Pocket K\'s...to make KKK over my QQQ - That\'s Hold Em

I\'m playing a $20 sit and go, and am dealt Q K. I raise three bets and have one caller. Flop comes down 9 10 J. I flop a nut straight, and check. I get raised, so I reraise back at him. He moves all in and I immediately call. He shows A 10. So I\'ve got him in bad shape, and I don\'t even understand why he\'d call with just a pair of 10s and an inside straight draw. Now what comes down on the turn but a 10. Alright, I\'m still in good shape. River comes down, yes another 10. He made four of a kind on runner, runner 10s. Probably one of my worst bad beats ever.

i am playing a 10/20 nl 1K min buy in home game in dallas. it\'s late, around 4 in the morning so we are 4-handed now. i am dealt ace ten of clubs in the bb...it is checked to me so i make a modest raise of 250$. i am smooth called by a player in first position with ace five and called by the player in the small blind who has pocket queens (he played this hand wrong). the flop comes A(h) 8(c) 3(c). i have top pair descent kicker (four-handed) and nut flush draw. the sb (queens) check and i open with a 1K bet and then the player in first position (ace 5) calls and the player with pocket queens reraises all in for about 6K more. after thinking about it i made the right call and called his all in...then out of nowhere ace five guy calls the all in. now he had the five of diamonds so he sitting on a two outer because one of his fives gives me the nut flush...and of course he hits his red five to win with two pair aces and fives but you knew that or else i wouldnt be typing this to begin with. after that beat i was left with 560 dollars and confusion...why would someone risk there stack with that garbage?

I was playing at my buddies house, low stakes no-limit hold\'em. i am chip leader but only by a few dollars. i am first to act pre-flop, i have K of clubs, J of clubs, i raise double the big blind, there are only four players left, the button folds small blind calls, big blind folds. heads up me and the guy right behind me in the chip lead. flop comes out 10 of clubs Ace of Clubs, 2 of clubs. small blind bets, and we then re-raise quite a few times, until he finally puts them all in. i call and we flip our cards. he shows 10 of diamonds, 10 of spades. my nut flush still beats his set of 10\'s. the turn comes out, 10 of hearts. he thinks he has this hand won and i see my night coming to an end. Low and behold, i hit my only out left. The Queen of clubs!!! my Royal flush beat his quad 10\'s. The worst part is, we were playing at his house so he had to sit there and watch me play the rest of the game out with his chips.

There are ALWAYS stupid beats online, i get sick of it, but they are worse in person.... in person game: I have pocket kings... so I raise before hand and the other guy calls... all low cards come, all diamonds, and one of my kings is a diamond...so i raise and somewhat slow play but not really and he calls with his ace some suit.. and a queen which is a diamond diamond. The turn comes a queen of spades. This leaves me with pair of kings higher then the highest on the board the queen and still a diamond flush draw if a nother diamond comes for a king high flush... so I go all in... this idiot thinks about it and finally says call with his pair of queens (highest on the board) and ace high kicker, the only thing that can save him is another queen or an ace but not the ace of diamonds cause that would make m a higher flush, the river is an ace... and i lose to two pair... lol ugh

Party Poker

I have played poker for a long time. Like everyone, you think you are better than you really are. I saw holdem tournaments on TV and became interested in hold em. A friend of mine, who I play golf with, told me how he was winning money playing poker on the Internet. I signed up with Party Poker. They have a \"play money\" site that I played on for several months. Another friend of mine works trade shows on the convention circuit. He told me about a convention that he worked at in Tunica, Mississippi. I had never heard of Tunica before. He told me it was just like Las Vegas only a whole lot closer and with better golf courses. Now golf is something I love. I play in a regular group and have for years at the Country Club where I belong. One day, several months ago, this poker playing friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in being part of a group of 8. The plan was to fly out of Central Illinois to Biloxi, Mississippi to play golf. He thought there would be an opportunity to gamble too so I jump at the idea and rearrange appointments at my office and cleared it with my wife. His trip turned out not to be a poker playing opportunity, because no one in that group played poker. About a month later after I was asked to go on this trip, the friend who asked me to be part of this group of eight, tells me that three of this group were dropping out. He said that the group size was now down to five and that they had taken a vote and \"I was out.\" Some friends I thought, I could arrange my own golf trip. What if I could golf and gamble too? I could do him one better. I started searching the internet for my own golfing vacation and remembered what my friend had said about Tunica. I asked three other intdividuals if they would like to go for a four day six golf round trip to Tunica. Tunica was only a five hour drive in my Van. The price at the Grand Victoria was very good, the courses were great, and my three friends (all non-poker players) readily agreed. I got to play in the $4/8 game for about an hour the first night there. It took about half an hour to get to the table. It was pretty uneventful and I think I was close to even. The next two days we played 36 holes and all of us were pretty tired and went to bed. The last day was Monday, the night of the final four. Only one round of golf was scheduled for that day. The University of Illinois team was already knocked out of the tournament, so I was not that interested in watching the finals and decided to play hold-em. I got to the poker room after dinner about 8:00. Thought I would play for a couple of hours. When I got to the Casino and went to the card room where I was informed that there was a waiting list for the $4/8 table. \"How long is the wait,\" I asked? \"There are four people ahead of you, so I would imagine about 45 minutes to an hour\", he replied. \"But if you want\", he said, \"there is an opening at the $15/$30 table and we will call you when a seat opens up.\" I thought about this proposition for a moment and concluded that I was there to gamble, I was short on time, wanted to play and to play now. I could not imagine me going back home and telling my poker playing friend who went to Biloxi, that I didn\'t get to play any poker in Tunica. This was justice, retribution and pay back. I needed to play. \"How many chips do I need.\" I asked and was told that $300 would probably be the minimum. I pulled out three $100 bills and was escorted to the table. I went through those chips like shit through a goose, or so the saying goes. I had just purchased my second $300 worth of chips when a tap comes on my shoulder. \"Sir, there is an opening at the lower limit table, would you like to take the seat\"? I resisted the urge to say, \"sister, you can bet your sweet ass I do\". \"Mam, I replied, \"I am a little out of my league here.\" I mucked my hand and followed her, head down and tail between my legs, to the lower limit table. I sat down and had played two hands at the lower limit table when I feel another tap on my shoulder. \"Sir, we are checking the video of your play at the last table, we think you were involved in a \"bad beat.\" I know I just started playing hold-em, but what could I have possibly done to deserve such special scrutiny? I felt lucky I was a lawyer and hoped that the local judiciary would show me some professional courtesy. \"What do you mean\", I asked the lady. She repeats. \"We think you were in a bad beat\". Now all kinds of things ran through my mind. If I was cheating, I was certainly doing a poor job of it having just made a $300 donation to the Tunica Holdem Betterment Society. In due time they explained what a bad beat was. Indeed, the bad beat had taken place during the hand that I had mucked when I left the table. After completing the tax form, they paid me off with $868 in cash. It just goes to show that it is better to be lucky than good. I now play, for the most part, for real money at the $25 pot limit table at Party Poker. They have a \"bad beat\" site too, but I do not play there. Why you ask? It also has to do with golf. On July 16th, 1959, I was fourteen years old and playing golf with my mother and two of her friends. Made a hole in one. Have not made one since. Contribute regularly to the \"hole in one club\" and have not collected a cent in 30 years. So now you know why I don\'t play in the bad beat room at Party Poker. It is about the same odds as my hole in one. It will never happen again. Or will it?

This is not a Bad Beat, but it is a hand i will never forget. I was playing in my weekly poker game(blinds were $5 and $10) and the cards were delt out and i had K and J of diamons. betting goes around, then on the flop it was 10,Q,A of diamons as well, so i slow play it by checking, even though i know i have the winning hand. And there were two other people in the hand, the first one checks as well and the second person bets $10, so right now im thinking YES!!!!!, but then i reraise to $50 and both of the people folds. So with a ROYAL FLUSH I won a wopping $40. That was the first royal flush i have ever seen, in 2 years of playing, and probly the lowest payout for a royal flush ever.

I beg to differ \"worried ps player\" i believe that UB has to be the worst river rat site on the net. I have played for about 3 hours today alone in about 5 freerolls, and i have seen at least 30 river beats with hands like 82 over KK and 95 over AK suited. UB has to be rigged. If you watch closely the big stacks always get their river card. The only was to get an advantage in a freeroll is go all in on the first hand and hope to win a pot of 3 or 4 thousand. After that you just have to get lucky. UB SUCKS DONKEY RECTUM

This just happened about an hour ago in a nl 20+2 tourney...I caught pocket 10s, so I raised 150 chips (3x bb), only bb called...flop comes 2s, 9d, 10s...I bet 150 again...he calls again...turn is 7h...I bet 150 again...he calls again...hmmm i wonder...flush draw or big pp...my trips still beat him, even if he has trips...the river is a 9s...I caught the boat and assume he catches the flush...I go all-in he calls with a jack high flush...bye-bye...He called my original raise with js4s...Not a smart move...And he kept calling with only a draw...this wasn\'t a bad beat, but a great play that I\'m proud of...I just had to vent

$2/$4 NLHE Ring table. I have JJ and raise it to $50 preflop. I get called by two other players. Flop is J-7-6 rainbow. I bet $50 and one player moves all in for $300. I call. Turn is a 7 and river is a 7. Other player had called preflop raise with 76os and hit two miracle cards to win.

alrite i get 10h Jh in the pcoket and raise to 200 with blinds 50-100, so the original table of 10 goes down to 3. Me, chip leader and some new guy. alrite so the flop comes 10, j, 7 rainbow, no flush, and a long shot straight. no one bets and it comes around to me so i throw in 200. everyone calls turn card comes q. everyone checks and i bet 400. new guy raises all in, and the chip leader folds. new guy flips over 9 9. he went ALL IN WITH POCKET NINES WITH 10 J AND Q ON THE BOARD. river card comes out 9. what else do i have to say? he has 2 outs with 3 overcards already on the board and im obviously representing at least one of them. any feedback on what i did wrong? juss a average bad beat by a bad player? email me xAznxBoyx916(at)yahoo.com

This is from a $20 Cash game. I go all in with pocket Aces pre-flop. My \"friend\" calls with Jack Six offsuit. No cards hit for either of us on the flop. The turn then comes a Jack. Then the river comes a Jack. Well that busted me and mad me very very angry. But you gotta take it both ways guys.

I\'m playing at a friends house with total of 10 players (never played against 7 of them). $100 buy in. The first hand I get KK. I\'m right of button so everyone calls a small early raise so I call to the flop. K 3 3 rainbowed. Beautiful! All checks until the player to the right of me bets 1/4 of stack. Beautiful! He\'s sitting on 33, K3, or bluffing KK. I call and raise him same amount, he calls. Next card, 5. Beautiful! He still believes he\'s in good shape. He goes all in, I call! He shows 33 I show my cowboys and what do you think happens next.....I am put out after playing for 2 minutes with a FOUR OF A KIND.......Forth Three on the River!

The pot at our bi-daily home game tourney was up to 250 dollars (10 dollar buy-in) two rebuys in first 2 hours. I had more than double the amount of chips of anyone else and was dealt pocket 9s. As I am BB everyone folds to SB and he raises to T20. You start off with T40 and i was up to over 300. Blinds were 4/8 so I call with my 9s. The flop bring AQ3 rainbow. While the initial raiser is a maniac i still check assuming that he has hit a pair of Qs at least. He checks as well and the turn brings a 9. BINGO. Every suit you could imagine was on the board so I was not afraid of a flush or any kind of straight. He checks to me again so I try to get some kind of action and throw in a T40 bet. As he smooth calls me I put him on QK thinking that he is scared of the A. As for if he has A2 he woulda reraised thinking his aces were good(just the kind of player he is). The river brings a Q and I think BINGO. He bets HUGE and I reraise all in which he could only cover half of what I had. Being the cocky player he is he SCREAMS out CALL and throws down his rockets. By far the hardest beat that I have ever taken thinking that my full house beat anything that he had.

i am the GREATEST poker plaer here, and i know it because i WILL be playing tournaments when I am 21 years of age, and i already know, for my rookie season i am going to at least win 3 world poker title tours and a couple world series bracelets, watch out for me, they call me JEWCY ok my bad beat, i did this to someone it was sooooo great! i was dealt pocket kings (spades and hearts) and the other guy had pocket aces (spades and diamonds) we go back and forth and we basically both go all in, i was the chip leader at a ten person table with about $3.50 which is a lot to our game which is held in a jewish temple every shabbash and on the flop comes ace of hearts, ace of clubs and queen of hearts, this guy has quads, and we are all going crazy, because the winner get a free cup of matza ball soup, than comes a ten of hearts, and than a queen of hearts, so i bust his quads he flopped for my royal flush, and i had some matza with that too, it was a good tasty salt ball

Seneca Falls Casino

I was playing a 1-2 No Limit Table $100 buyin at the poker room at Seneca Falls Casino in Niagara Falls. I was on the button and I had about $150-$160 so far. I had the button and I played 5d7d suited Diamonds. There was about 4 people in the hand that called the big blind of $2. The flop came 4c,6s,9h basically a rainbow flop but gave me an open ended straight draw. The small blind checkd then the big blind bet $10 which was called then I called the $10 for a resaonable price to see the turn and the ssmall blind folded. The turn came my money card the 3d with a board showing 3,4,9, and 6 I was chomping at the bit hoping someone would bet hard and I could go all in. Sure enough the big blind went $20 the person this left folded and I immediately raised him all in and I had about $127 left which he immediately called shwoing me 2 pair 4s and 6s and I showed him the straight but even before his jaw could drop seeing my straight the dealer shows the 2nd 4 on the board giving him the full house 4s over 6s on the river. I was not at all lhappy to see that kind of money roll away on th eriver or as the guy sitting next to me would say to get jerked off on the river. I can\'t blame the guy for calling with 2 pair not seeing much on the board but hate losing such a big pot on the river. I eventually took my last $40 and quadrupled it in 2 hours but it sucked knowing I could have been up $200-$300 oh well that\'s poker for you.

I had KK and raised before the flop and everyone folded but one guy he reraised me but I felt good about the hand and reraised him all in for $250 (which was most of my money that I had just deposited on the site). He called pretty fast and flipped over 66. I was very happy for about three seconds the flopp came QQ6 giving him the boat. I was sick in my stomack. I was thinking could I please get a K in the next two cards?? nope and the guy said he was sorry but he was tired of being pushed around on the table. He also said he would give lots of action for a while but I am pretty sure I went on tilt and loaded my last $50 and called AQs and lost that hand. now I have to tell my wife I lost $300 in two hands.

Live game

Was playing In a live 100 euro buyin. I had a good stack and was at a real loose/ weak table. I caught AA in second position. First position raises the 100/200 blinds to 600. What is he doing? I have about 1200 in chips so I raise all in. Everyone else folds and I show my aces, he sighs and shows Q7 of spades. I almost start laughing. Sure enough the flop comes with 3 spades including the aces of spades which gives me trips. I dont catch a boat and lose. I was upset but nothing I can do there.

Down to 5 in a tourney. I am in second chip position and on the button, so I bet $65,000 with A7o. I got called by the chip leader. I feel a bit shaky with my moderately weak ace, but after the flop comes AA7, I know I got the nuts and the smile widens. He check-raised me all in, and I couldnt get my chips in fast enough. I felt proud when the software turned up my boat, especially when I saw his pocket jacks :-) I knew he needed running jacks to administer the worst beat in the history of poker. What do you think happened? Yep....... BAM, BAM........ Turn was the Jd, river Jc... I went from taking a massive chip lead to being out in 5th place. It was, to this day, and will forever be, the worst beat I ever took. That is the one and only time I\'ve ever lost a pot when flopping a full house. Thankfully though, the guy who administered the beat down didnt win the tourney either. What are ya gonna do? Given that hand 1,000 more times, I\'d play it the same way each and every one of them :-)

Late position player has KK reraises a preflop raise and makes it $10 to go before the flop. The Big Blind smooth calls with JJ. The Flop comes down K 10 J, The BB moves all in and is called quickly by the other player with top set. The BB then turns the case Jack in the deck for Quads. This card was about a 1%, 1 outer. Incredible, worst beat ive ever seen.
