Hello Players, Volunteer Fire Companies on the Eastern Shore of Maryland raise money to supplement County funding in a number of ways. Home Cooked dinners, BBQ Chicken Sales, various bingos and the like. Recently though, Texas Hold 'Em poker tournaments have become popular and a good source of revenue.

Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company has been hosting Hold 'Em tournaments in the Spring and Fall for a couple of years, and the next scheduled event will be Saturday, October 17thl, 2009 at 1:00 PM. We have had 87, 86 and 93 players attend our last three tournaments and hope to maintain or increase participation by advertising our events on forums like this one.

Several other fire companies in the area also schedule Texas Hold 'Em events and we will be glad to provide dates and times that we are aware of.

Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company wishes to thank all those who played in the Spring Texas Hold 'Em poker fund raiser, held at Queen Anne, MD on April 11, 2009. We drew 93 players from Maryland and Delaware on a rainy Easter Saturday to compete for the $4600 prize pool. The top prize would have been $1400, with all eight finalists taking home a portion of the prize pool. The final three contestants agreed to split the remaining prize money, taking home $992 each. Thanks again to all who participated.
