Hello there fellow poker players! My name is Andrew, but most call me Drew. I have been playing poker for about 10 years, and through the years have played in many local clubs in the Western Connecticut area, and of course the Casino's. I live near Waterbury CT and prefer to drive 10 minutes to play, rather than over an hour. There are games every night, all different stakes, in safe and friendly environments, and I know where and when most of them are. I love to play poker live. But i've a lot of bad experience playing poker live games in vegas. I would still prefer playing online poker. Every player can't see their opponent eyes or facial expression.

But that is what makes poker so great! The math and odds are easy. Once you master that, it gets boring. But when you get to look and interact with your enemy, get him to talk, pick up on his confidence or fear, and react accordingly, THAT is what feels good. I have made some intense calls by hearing my opponent carry-on during a hand, watch his movements, etc. and that feels real good to be correct. And sometimes it felt just as much like a "win" to make that huge laydown. Yes, it can happen online too, but nowhere near as often as live. You just don't have as much information. A second benefiit is the general comradery of a social atmosphere. Not to mention, no worries of collusion, at least not like what happens online!

Absolutely correct. You can do what you want to do on the poker table if you're online. You can bully your co player just to destruct them.

You can do the same thing live. Actually, you can do it MORE so live. A player online can be in several games, not paying attention enough to care, or move tables. Live, you are with a player longer, and it's harder for them to get away from you. Plus, you can bully them more with conversation as well. You can do all the same things live as you can do online, except there are more things you can do live. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it!

Well, you are correct with that too my friend. But for me, playing live makes me nervous and very distracting especially when you are facing one on one with other players. I get easily distracted.

Hi, my name is Steve. I'm 23 and I absolutly love poker. I learned how to play nlhe for the first time about a year and a half ago and have been playing whenever i could since. I would love to play for a living if I could.

This is my first post on these forums. I just found them yesterday because I would love to get into playing some live games. I have played 1-2 NL twice at the casino and have won about 200 each time. Playing live is so much more fun then online to me.

I live in Wallingford Connecticut and would love to get playing some local games. I don't have a whole lot of money because I started going to school in october and have only worked on the weekends since. I play online daily but only for pennies and would much rather play some low level live games. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
