KK or QQ with overcard on flop

I never know what to do with these hands. You're dealt QQ or KK UTG and raise, and get a caller or two. Flop comes A or K high when you have QQ, or A-high when you have KK.

Do you just call and if you get raised, fold? Or do you call and if someone bets, then fold? Or do you you say, "I'm betting all the way" ?

I never know what to do with these.

If there are lots of people in the pot, chances are, that one of them has an A.

I would say raise in that situation. If you get reraised then you can fold. Its all about what you know about you opponent. If he is a good player he will raise to see where he stands. You also have to keep in mind of the cards he has been playing. Does he raise everytime he has the goods or does he play the Ace 9 off suit like a lot of reckless players. If he calls you, you still have a chance to get your set on the turn or buy the entire pot with an aggressive bet. If your reading your opponents correctly, then it would depend on your chip stack.

Even if he had the A 9 off, that would still have your Qs or Ks beat. Perhaps you did not read all of the question, JMT.

You have to know what hands he will re-raise with as well. Say the flop is A-8-3 rainbow and you hold KK or QQ, is he/she the type of player to raise with a PP of nines and up?

I would say if you don't know your opponents play it a lot more tightly until you do know them. Once you know them, then you may be able to play it further/more aggressive if they are loose players.

Bet it up!

If you know your opponents this will help a great deal. If you bet then they will think you have it. You came out firing before the flop and now with the A out there you are again betting it up. Chances are they will fold unless they have an A. But you won't be able to tell that if you don't bet.

Yeah, but if you bet knowing that one of them probably has the ace, then then most decent players would call with a pair of As unless it was an all in bet with a big stack.
