Born in 1959 in Tehran, Iran, Farzad "Freddy" Bonyadi is an Iranian professional poker player from California.
Bonyadi moved from Iran to America in 1983, where he worked as an executive host at the LA Commerce Casino and as a shift manager at Hollywood Park Casino before focusing on playing poker.
Bonyadi garnered attention from the poker world when he won his first bracelet in the the $2,000 Limit Hold'em event at the 1998 WSOP, outlasting a final table that included Mimi Tran and John Cernuto on the way to a $429,940 first prize. In his 3rd bracelet win, he outlasted a huge field of 1,056 players in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event in 2005. He also earned $235,390 for a 41st place finish in the 2005 main event. Bonyadi won 3 WSOP bracelets, 16 WSOP cashes, and total WSOP earnings of $1,509,927.

Bonyadi has cashed 12 times in WPT events and made a final table in the 2nd season when he finished in 5th place at a final table that included Mel Judah, Paul Phillips, T.J. Cloutier, Chip Jett and Phil Laak.
Bonyadi is an exclusive professional poker player at Full Tilt Poker. As of 2009, his total live tournament winnings exceed $2,500,000.
