Mel Judah was born in Calcutta, India, in 1947 is an Australian professional poker player who now resides in London and plays in tournaments all over the world. As of 2009, he has 36 WSOP cashes and has won several million dollars in live tournament play.
Also known as "The Silver Fox", he learned to play poker at the age of 14 by watching his father play 5-card draw. Before he traveled the tournament circuit, he was a former Vidal Sassoon hairdresser and later opened his own salon in London’s West End.
Judah has earned World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets for Limit 7-Card Stud events — in the 1989 $1,500 buy-in event and the 1997 $5,000 buy-in event. He also has a couple of 2nd place finishes in WSOP Events as well as a 3rd place finish in the 1997 Main Event which Stu Ungar won. Judah won a World Poker Tour event during season two, winning $681,217.
